What does UID stand for?
UID stands for Universal Identification. Currently, it can be used with a Data Matrix 2D Barcode or a RFID Barcode
What is a UID label?
A U.I.D.(Universal Identification)label is a combination of human-readable(in some cases) labels and 2D Data Matrix Barcode markings. The UID label by itself is insiginificant. The real benefits of the UID are realized when the UID label is used in a system which allows the Department of Defense to accurately track an item during it's lifecycle.

What items are required to have UID labeling?
All items valued at $5000 or more require a UID label.
Are small business also required to implement the UID labels?
Any and all Department of Defense suppliers must affix a UID label on eligible items.
